That was the deal. And more than that, of course, it's a horrible idea, not for the reasons he knows Sirius is about to get lambasted with. It's horrible because there is no way Regulus will accept, and Sirius is going to end up crushed all over again, and Remus isn't honestly sure how many times those particular pieces can be put back together.*
