*Lily dips her index finger into her mouth, quickly tasting a bit of vanilla icing. There is something incredibly satisfying about assembling a cake made from scratch, especially a huge, homemade strawberry shortcake wearing nothing but knickers and a threadbare jumper. She's spent ages on it, most of the afternoon in fact while Harry played with Dusty beside her bare feet.

Just as she's about to place the strawberries atop the cake, Harry babbles loudly at her ankles and holds his arms in the air. Lily bends over to pick him up and kisses him on the cheek before running her finger along the bright yellow bowl once full of icing, gathering just enough to tempt Harry. She gets him to try the icing and laughs when he tries to reach for more from the kitchen counter.*

I'm guessing you approve, yeah?

*James sets the bowl back on the table, not before taking another taste himself.*

In his defense, this is some brilliant icing. Can't really blame the kid, can you?

*James ruffles the back of Harry's hair, which has become as much of a regular habit as ruffling his own. Harry turns his head and peeks out at James with a smile.*

Yes, it's pretty amazing if I do say so myself. But we have to make sure we verbalise what is right and wrong. He's already began to listen when I say "no" so we should try to do whatever we can to make sure it sticks.

*Lily tries to smooth out Harry's hair with a mournful sigh.*

I swear, if we have another child in the future it best not have your hair genes again. Harry is already doomed. Good thing I like your stupid hair.

Doomed? What do you mean, 'doomed'? Do you have any idea how handsome this kid's gonna be? He's going to have the girls fawning all over him, you'll see.

Maybe so but his hair just won't stay down!

*Lily hands Harry over to James.*

Twins, you two are. It's uncanny.

Your eyes though. Hopefully it means he's got your eyesight as well.

I wouldn't wish poor eyesight on anyone, especially not my child. But I like your terrible vision. Your glasses are pretty sexy, I must say.

*James gives her a cheeky smile.*

Well, thank you. Would you like me to tell you what I find 'pretty sexy' about you?

*Lily offers him a sly smile as she places the plump strawberries atop the cake and places it in the refrigerator. She walks back over to James and runs a hand through his hair, letting it travel down his arm. With her lips inches away from the crook of his neck and breath warming his skin, her reply is soft.*

You know I would, but maybe tonight when I'm wearing something a bit more comfortable.

*She lets her words hang in the air for a moment and, without another look, she turns from him and heads out of the kitchen with Dusty in tow.*
