*It isn't exactly a shock that Rita has been following the Crouch family press (and making it) with a great deal of interest. It's nigh impossible to live in wizarding Britain WITHOUT knowing a thing or two about the lot of them. What separates Rita from the pack is the nature of her particular interest.

No one has dared write an ill word about the Crouches since their meteoric rise to power. However "ill" is precisely the word Rita is intrigued with. It doesn't take a historian to be familiar with the family's prior reputation. It doesn't take a doctor to see Bernadette Crouch, even made lively with make-up and fine robes, has one foot in the grave. However, it does take a reporter to put two-and-two together for her loyal readers. The personal and private hardships of a beloved politician make for a good pay-check, after all.

Titles spin through her head. Bartemius Crouch - Coming Undone? or perhaps Shocking Truth Emerges, Minister's Wife On Her Death Bed yet still Behind Closed Doors: Imminent Tragedy for Family Crouch.

The locked STAFF ONLY door swims into her view. Nose diving, Rita only folds her wings once she reaches the sterile, tiled floor. Scuttling under the gap, she emerges into a world that's dissolved into nothing but files, dating back centuries and enchanted into organizing and copying themselves so that the tall, windowless room is nothing but a bustle of floating parchment.*

*He has worked here for decades and still hasn't quite gotten into the habit of bringing tea from home, a mildly amusing dilemma that reveals itself to him around lunch time at least three days of the week. But he counts his trek up to the fifth floor and back again as apart of his daily exercise, so not all is lost. On his way back to his office today, watching the lights pass overhead in the wavering reflection of his tea, Roderick very nearly walks past the record room without noticing the unauthorised woman inside of it, but his attention is drawn as a single sheet of paper whispers out from under the door and lays there in front of his shoes.

He sets his tea afloat in the air beside him, taking out his spectacles as he crouches down, reading it over quickly to see if perhaps there's something curious going on.*

*His tea is steaming merrily without him, but Roderick has never been one to leave even an intern to face troubles alone. He stands and knocks twice on the door.*

Anyone need a hand in there?

*The paper crunches into his shoe and as he waits, knocking again in case whoever is inside didn't hear him, he slowly begins to frown.*

The files in there are very sensitive, why don't you open the door and we'll get things back in order.

...That room isn't supposed to be open, I'll have to talk to the administrative staff if you won't tell me who you are.

Hello?

*With the papers in hand and his tea left behind, Roderick turns the door handle and pushes it into the filing room.*

*With a bob of shock he steps hurriedly into the seemingly empty room, cursing as he trods on a number of copies of birth certificates left piled haphazardly on the ground. Despite all it's efficiencies, the wizarding world has yet to come up with any charm or spell to quickly reorganise anything as ambitious as St' Mungo's file room. Not even considering the potential privacy invasions if anything has gone missing, the sheer mass of mess in here is a disaster of paperwork.*

What in heaven's name-

*The open door in question shouldn't, of course, really be open. Andromeda had been doing much the same as Southwell - usually she does bring tea from home, but there had been a minor fiasco this morning with the cat, and it'd been forgotten in the shuffle of getting the poor thing calmed down and Dora calmed down and Ted filled in on what was happening (because of course it'd happened while he was in the shower, because he had the worst timing possible of anyone she'd ever met). Tea had not, at the time, been a priority.

Nor was it now, suddenly. Her reaction more or less dovetails with Southwell's: she stops short when she glances into the room, eyes wide.*

Roderick, what - ?

*As he turns to the sound of the voice, the papers are momentarily undirected and fly away from him like a mushroom cloud of parchment.*

Oh for god's - there's been a disruption in the filing. Have you seen anyone go in or out of this room today?

No, but I've been with patients, I just went on break.

*She steps into the room, ducking a bit to avoid a think sheaf of parchment bumbling along like an owl carrying too much weight.*

...Even Ted would be impressed with this mess.

I've seen this happen before, new hires unfamiliar with the filing system, but never on this scale... It can't have gotten this out of control unless something was taken out or put in without the right procedure.
